Afrobeats star Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P and a former member of the defunct duo P-Square, has dismissed claims that a woman played a role in the renewed rift within the Okoye family.

In a series of posts shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, the singer stated that the conflict predates their marriages and is rooted in longstanding issues involving trust, loyalty, and the management of their music business.

Responding to circulating narratives, Mr. P insisted that no woman influenced the situation, urging the public to stop attributing the dispute to external parties.

“Before you drag any woman into this, no woman advised anyone to take what I worked for over the years,” he wrote, rejecting claims that the fallout was recently triggered.

He explained that the disagreements date back over two decades, long before any of the parties involved got married, adding that the issues centre on alleged betrayal and financial misconduct.

The singer also addressed the emotional toll of the situation, stating that setting personal boundaries became necessary for his mental well-being.

“Even if my parents were alive and supported such actions, I would still choose to step back and protect my peace.

“Boundaries are necessary. Blood isn’t thicker than my peace of mind,” he said.

Mr. P further disclosed that the matter is currently before the court, noting that investigations had revealed the issues had persisted for more than 20 years.

He urged the public to refrain from spreading narratives that misrepresent the situation, maintaining that he remains focused on moving forward.

“It’s painful, but I will come out stronger,” he added.

In a related development, the singer recently announced a personal change regarding his birthday celebration.

In a message shared on X on April 20, he revealed that he will no longer celebrate his birthday on November 18, stating that future celebrations will be held on November 30.

He clarified that the decision is personal and requested that fans, friends, and family respect the change by directing their goodwill messages to the new date.
