Nigerian crypto entrepreneur Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord and founder of BLord Group, has been granted bail by the Federal High Court in Abuja, following his arrest over allegations of fraud, forgery, and impersonation.
The court granted BLord bail on self-recognizance on Friday, with conditions requiring him to submit his international passport to authorities.
Police prosecutors reportedly withdrew their opposition to the bail application, while no counter-affidavit was filed by activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), who initiated the allegations involving alleged unauthorized use of his image.

Prominent activist, Omoyele Sowore was present in court in support of the bail proceedings, stressing that state institutions should not be used to resolve personal disputes between individuals.
His presence further amplified public debate around accountability and regulation in Nigeria’s fast-growing digital and cryptocurrency space.
Although bail has been granted, the substantive trial is yet to begin, with court dates still pending as the matter continues.
