Four family members have been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, in Shadadi community of Kuje Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The kidnappers were said to have invaded the community in the wee hours of Wednesday, shooting sporadically to scare residents.
Some of the community residents told the newsmen in Abuja that the incident happened at about 1:00 am after the suspected kidnappers, numbering over 10 forcefully gained access to the premises by pulling down the windows burglary to kidnap the victims.
“Immediately they entered at about 1:00 am, they told everybody in the house to lie down with each of them pointing their guns at each member of the family.
“The next thing they did was that they demanded for a bag in the house and when one of the family members brought a bag, they rejected it and demanded for a particular one, The Trumpet gathered.
“The family member went inside the room and brought another bag that they accepted and abducted the husband, one of his daughters, his brother and his sister-in-law,” a relative of the abductees, who pleaded anonymity told journalists.
He appealed to the police and other security agencies to come to the rescue of the abductees to ensure their safe release by the kidnappers.
A resident of the community and a neighbour of the victims, Mrs Joy Adogo, said she was shocked by the incident. Adding that several of the kidnappers were all over the environment while about 10 were inside the house.
She said: “They were numbering about 30 when I saw them going through my window and it was not actually a good experience.
“My appeal is for the police to step in to ensure their safe release.”

Meanwhile, a team of policemen from the Kuje Divisional Headquarters was seen at the scene of the incident to inspect the area.
However, the Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Police Command, DSP Josephine Adeh, said she has not been briefed when contacted.
