The Adamawa State government has inaugurated the 2026 Amirul Hajj Committee as part of preparations for the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Abubakar Curin, who outlined the composition of the committee and its mandate to ensure a smooth and successful pilgrimage.
The committee is chaired by the Amirul Hajj, Aliyu Danburam, and includes prominent members such as Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, alongside other key stakeholders tasked with overseeing the planning and coordination of the exercise.
Speaking during the inauguration, the SSG emphasized the importance of the committee’s assignment, urging members to carry out their duties with sincerity, dedication, and accountability.

He stressed that the welfare of pilgrims remains a top priority for the state government, highlighting the need for proper coordination, effective guidance, and adequate support throughout the pilgrimage process, both within Nigeria and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Responding, the Amirul Hajj, Aliyu Danburam, expressed appreciation to the state government for the confidence reposed in the committee.
He assured that members would work diligently to justify the trust placed in them through proper planning and efficient management of all Hajj operations.
He further pledged that the committee would collaborate with relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure a hitch-free pilgrimage for all intending pilgrims from Adamawa State.
