Global pop sensation Justin Bieber delivered a nostalgic and unconventional headline performance at the Coachella, marking his long-awaited return to the major stage after a four-year hiatus.

The 32-year-old singer took fans on a journey through his musical evolution during Saturday night’s show, blending live vocals with throwback visuals from his early career.

In a unique twist, Bieber performed alongside YouTube videos of his classic hits, including Baby and Never Say Never, paying tribute to the platform that launched him into global stardom.

The performance marked Bieber’s biggest live appearance since he cancelled his Justice world tour following his diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome in 2022, which caused partial facial paralysis.

Opening the set alone on a stripped-back stage, Bieber initially performed tracks from his 2025 albums Swag and Swag II before transitioning into older material.

Addressing the crowd, he repeatedly asked, “How far back do you go?” as he revisited the songs that defined his early career.

Adding a personal touch, Bieber displayed home videos from his childhood clips that originally helped him gain recognition at age 12 while also interacting with live comments from fans watching the performance online.

The show also included a reference to a recent viral moment involving the singer, further fueling public conversation about his personal life and mental well-being.

Bieber was joined on stage by several high-profile artists, including The Kid Laroi, Wizkid, Tems and Dijon, adding energy and diversity to the performance.

In the audience were notable figures such as Hailey Bieber, alongside celebrity couple Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.

Bieber’s minimalist, reflective set stood in sharp contrast to the previous night’s headliner, Sabrina Carpenter, who delivered a high-energy, theatrical performance complete with elaborate costumes and choreography.

The Coachella, held annually in Indio, California, continues to attract over 100,000 attendees daily, cementing its status as one of the world’s premier music festivals.

Sunday’s headline slot is set to be taken by Colombian superstar Karol G, rounding off another star-studded weekend in the desert.
