The Delta State chapter of the African Democratic Congress has reaffirmed that its scheduled congresses will hold from April 9 to 11, 2026, dismissing contrary claims as misleading and unauthorised.
In a statement issued in Asaba, the State Secretary of the party’s leadership team, Hon. Emeka Ozegbe, urged members and supporters to disregard any announcements suggesting a change in dates, particularly those attributed to an individual identified as Austin Okolie.
Ozegbe stated that the conduct of party congresses falls strictly under the authority of the National Working Committee, which has already communicated the approved timetable to state chapters. He emphasised that all state structures are expected to comply fully with directives from the national leadership.
He added that this position was reinforced during a recent meeting between the National Working Committee and state chairmen in Abuja, where the congress schedule was clearly outlined.

According to him, preparations are in place to ensure a smooth and credible process across Delta State, as the party moves to strengthen its internal structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party also confirmed that its National Convention is scheduled to take place on April 14, 2026, shortly after the conclusion of the state congresses.
Ozegbe called on party faithful to remain focused and united, warning against attempts by individuals or groups to disrupt the process or create confusion within the party ranks.
He maintained that the ADC remains committed to building a strong political platform capable of competing effectively in future elections.
