Florida police has released the camera footage that captured the moments golf icon Tiger Woods was taken into custody following a recent car accident in Jupiter Island.
The video shows the 15-time major winner calmly interacting with officers after his vehicle collided with a truck and overturned. While speaking with law enforcement, Woods reportedly explained that he briefly glanced at his phone before the crash occurred.
Officials confirmed that no injuries were recorded, although Woods had to exit the damaged vehicle through the passenger side.
Additional footage shows him seated in the back of a patrol car after his arrest, appearing visibly affected but cooperative.
According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Woods was charged with driving under the influence, property damage, and refusing to comply with a lawful test. While he reportedly passed a breathalyser test, he declined further screening to detect other substances.
Sheriff John Budensiek stated that officers observed signs suggesting impairment, including excessive sweating, dilated pupils, and slowed responses.
During questioning, Woods denied consuming alcohol but acknowledged taking prescribed medication earlier that day. Authorities later recovered pills identified as hydrocodone, an opioid used for pain management.
Through his legal representatives, Woods has entered a not guilty plea. A court has since granted him permission to travel overseas for medical treatment as he temporarily steps back from professional golf.

The incident has already impacted his career decisions. Woods recently withdrew from consideration as the United States captain for the 2027 Ryder Cup, scheduled to take place in Ireland.
Reacting to the development, former world number one Nick Faldo stressed the importance of accountability, describing the situation as serious. He also criticised the response of the PGA Tour, calling it inadequate.
Faldo added that while there is understanding regarding Woods’ ongoing physical challenges, the situation underscores the need for responsibility, warning it could have wider implications for the sport.
