The Delta State Police Command has arrested 11 more suspects linked to the alleged sexual assault incident in Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area.
This was contained in a press release issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Bright Edafe.
The command said the arrests followed ongoing investigations into the disturbing incident reported at Oramudu Quarters in Ozoro.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Aina Adesola, had directed the CP Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) to carry out a detailed investigation into the matter.
Acting on the directive, operatives of the team conducted an analysis of available video footage and intelligence, which led to the arrest of the additional suspects, including Samson Atukpodo, Steven Ovie, Ugbevo Samson, Afoke Akporobaro and Evidence Oguname, alongside six others.
The police said the latest development brings the total number of suspects currently in custody to 15.
The command noted that preliminary findings indicate that the incident was carried out by criminal elements who took advantage of the situation to perpetrate acts of sexual violence.

It stressed that the acts are not in any way representative of any legitimate cultural practice.
Condemning the incident, the commissioner of police reassured the public of the command’s resolve to ensure that all those involved are brought to justice.
He also urged members of the public, particularly victims and witnesses, to come forward with useful information to aid the investigation, assuring that such information would be treated with strict confidentiality.
