The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has extended warm felicitations to Muslim communities across Nigeria and the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the conclusion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

In a goodwill message jointly signed by caucus leaders—including Rep. Kingsley Ogundu Chinda, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Isa J.C., Rt. Hon. Aliyu Madaki, and Rt. Hon. George Ozodinobi—the lawmakers commended Muslims for their devotion, perseverance, and spiritual discipline throughout the month-long fast.

The message emphasized that Ramadan is not only a period of physical discipline but also a time for spiritual reflection, empathy, and collective responsibility. It highlighted how abstaining from basic necessities fosters self-discipline, strengthens leadership capacity, and encourages a deeper commitment to national development.

The caucus also underscored the role of empathy cultivated through fasting in bridging social and economic divides. They called on Nigerians to turn charitable impulses into sustained social action, stating that acts of Zakat and Sadaqah should contribute to permanent social justice rather than seasonal gestures.

“By internalizing the virtues of Ramadan, we reinforce national cohesion, compassion, and the prioritization of collective progress over immediate personal gratification,” the message read. It stressed that shared communal practices, including Iftar and prayer, can help break ethnic, tribal, and social barriers, promoting unity across Nigeria.

While celebrating the festival, the Minority Caucus also used the occasion to urge the Federal Government to implement practical, people-centered solutions to Nigeria’s multi-sectoral challenges, emphasizing that policies must go beyond rhetoric to alleviate the daily hardships faced by citizens.

The lawmakers expressed confidence that Almighty Allah has accepted the prayers and fasting of the Muslim Ummah and prayed for peace and transformative lessons from the holy month.

“May the peace of Eid dwell in your homes, and may the lessons of the fast transform our nation. Ramadan Kareem to everyone,” the statement added.
