Popular TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja better known as Peller, has ignited discussions on social media after complimenting the road network in Uyo during his recent trip to Akwa Ibom State, drawing a comparison to the roads in Lagos.
In a video posted online, Peller expressed his shock at the spacious and well-kept roads in Uyo, noting that the city seemed more organized than he had anticipated.
“I’m not going to lie, the roads here are really fine. Some of them even look better planned than what we have in Lagos,” Peller said while driving through parts of the city.
His comments quickly gathered attention on the social media platform X, where users shared a variety of opinions.

One user, @NaijaUrbanist, stated: “Uyo has always had one of the best road networks in Nigeria. The city planning there is deliberate.”
Conversely, another user, @Lagospedia, contested the comparison, arguing that Lagos faces distinct challenges due to its size and population.
“You can’t compare Uyo to Lagos. Lagos accommodates millions of people daily and is the commercial center of the country,” the user commented.
Others commended the advancements in Akwa Ibom. A user named @AkwaIbomPride remarked, “This is what effective planning looks like. Uyo’s roads have been like this for years.”
Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, is often recognized for its relatively organized urban design and road infrastructure. In contrast, Lagos is Nigeria’s most bustling city, with heavy traffic and a rapidly increasing population continuously straining its infrastructure.
