The United Nations Security Council on Wednesday adopted a resolution strongly condemning recent attacks attributed to Iran against member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Jordan.
The resolution secured broad international support, passing with 13 votes in favour, while Russia and China abstained from the vote.
Presented by Bahrain and co-sponsored by 135 countries, the motion reaffirmed strong support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and political independence of GCC nations and Jordan.
In the adopted text, the council condemned what it described as “egregious attacks” by Iran against the Gulf states and Jordan, stressing that such actions constitute a violation of international law and pose a serious threat to global peace and security.

The resolution also raised concerns over the reported targeting of civilian infrastructure, noting that the attacks resulted in casualties and caused damage to residential buildings and other non-military facilities.
Reacting to the development, Jamal Fares Alrowaiei welcomed the council’s decision, describing it as a clear demonstration of the international community’s commitment to safeguarding global peace and stability.
He further expressed appreciation to the 135 countries that backed the resolution, stating that their support highlights growing international concern over what he called Iran’s unjustified attacks on GCC countries and Jordan.
