Participants of the 2026 International Class Welding and Fabrication training programme have expressed appreciation to Joel-Onowakpo Thomas for facilitating the capacity-building initiative aimed at equipping youths with practical technical skills.

The trainees, who benefited from the one-month programme organised by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in collaboration with the senator, described the training as a significant step toward improving their professional competence in welding and fabrication.

The appreciation was conveyed in a statement released on Friday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, shortly after the successful completion of the training programme.

Speaking on behalf of the trainees, the welders’ team leader, Ewomazino Odugala, commended the organisers for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the exercise. He also expressed gratitude to the management and consultants of the programme for providing professional guidance throughout the training period.

Odugala particularly praised Senator Joel-Onowakpo for creating opportunities for constituents of the Delta South Senatorial District to participate in the international standard welding and fabrication training.

According to him, the programme has significantly enhanced the participants’ knowledge and technical understanding of modern welding practices.

“Our workaholic senator, the training we received has been invaluable to our career development. We deeply appreciate your efforts, which have helped us gain a deeper understanding of international welding and fabrication,” he said.

He described the initiative as a reflection of the senator’s commitment to youth empowerment and professional development within his constituency.

Odugala added that the trainees are eager to apply the skills acquired during the programme to advance their careers and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the local economy.

“This achievement is a testament to your dedication and commitment to service. Your efforts in fostering professional growth are commendable, and we are grateful for the opportunity given to us,” he added.

The welders’ team leader also noted that the initiative had strengthened teamwork among the participants while positioning them for better opportunities in the welding and fabrication industry.

The statement was signed by Oyibu Oreva on behalf of the welders’ trainees.

The programme forms part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board and stakeholders to build technical capacity and empower youths with industry-relevant skills.
