Nollywood actress Annie Idibia has responded to the increasing discussions about her marital status after her separation from music star Innocent Idibia, known as 2Baba.
Since news of their split became public, Annie has remained in the spotlight and took to her Instagram story to clarify how she prefers to be identified.
In her post, Annie stated: “I’m not a single mom. I’m a single woman raising two kids.”
Her comment quickly generated a variety of reactions on social media, with users expressing differing views on her choice of phrasing.

Victoria commented: “Words matter. Single mom and single woman raising kids convey different meanings, and her clarification is significant.”
Queen remarked: “Women can be quite amusing and interesting at times. Just think about how divorce has humbled Annie.
“She used to make her husband’s life difficult, drove away all his friends, and turned him into a guest in his own home. Her music career has faded.
“Now she’s almost invisible without him. I hope women realize that men are actually the prize. What’s the grammatical difference between single mom and single woman anyway?”
Mamza4eal expressed: “Annie isn’t a single mom. She’s a woman thriving while raising her children. Yet, society tends to label women instead of celebrating their achievements.”
Olatomiwaayo added: “I don’t see anything wrong with her statement; she has the right to choose how she identifies, and no one can change that.
“She is a woman flourishing in her own space, motivating herself and building her own dreams.”
