The Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force have announced that physical and credential screening for applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables will commence nationwide on March 9, 2026.

According to an official statement issued by the PSC spokesperson, Torty Kalu, the screening exercise will run from March 9 to April 18, 2026, across all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The commission said all candidates who successfully completed the online recruitment registration are required to log on to the official recruitment portal — npfapplication.psc.gov.ng — to verify their application status and print required documents ahead of their scheduled screening date.

Applicants must present the following printed documents at their designated screening centres: guarantors form, application submission slip, invitation elip, credentials screening form and physical screening form.

Applicants are also required to present both original and duplicate copies of their credentials, neatly packaged in two separate white flat files, with recent passport photographs attached.

The PSC stated that all candidates must appear at the screening venues dressed in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts, and white stockings.

The screening will be conducted at designated centres within each state and the FCT, as indicated on individual invitation printouts.

Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Hashimu Argungu, reiterated that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge and does not require any financial payment at any stage.

Argungu assured applicants that the exercise would be conducted with transparency and accountability, in line with established guidelines.

He warned candidates to be cautious of online impostors, scammers, and other criminal elements who may attempt to exploit the recruitment process for fraudulent purposes, stressing that anyone found engaging in such activities would be arrested and prosecuted.

The recruitment of 50,000 constables is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the manpower capacity of the Nigeria Police Force and improve security across the country.

The PSC advised all shortlisted candidates to strictly adhere to the guidelines and attend their screening on the assigned dates, as failure to do so may result in disqualification.
