A video of the Founder of the Eleganza Group, Rasaq Okoya and his wife Shade, posted on X, showcases a sweet interaction between the couple has sparked a buzz online.
The 39-second clip shows Shade in a glittering gown lovingly attending to her husband of 27 years, whom she wed in 1999 when she was 21 and he was 59.
Many fans have applauded their chemistry, with one comment urging men to find a partner who loves them as Shade loves Rasaq, which received over 1,700 likes.
However, some skeptics contend that such loyalty is often linked to wealth, humorously suggesting, “get money like Rasaq before you start looking for a Shade.”
This has reignited the ongoing debate about love versus money within Nigeria’s online community.
@James_Odunlami remarked, “How do you know Shade loves Rasaq Okoya and not just his money? Instead of searching for a woman who will love you like Shade loves Okoya, focus on making money like Rasaq first.
“Then you can look for a woman like Shade. There are plenty of women like her, but not many men with Rasaq’s wealth. Get rich first; money attracts women!”

@Temztems added, “Did you know she met him during a job interview at Eleganza? He happened to walk in that day and said, ‘I like you and want to marry you if you’re interested.’ He gave her his number, and that’s how it all started. Love at first sight!”
@Shossky commented, “The lady has truly played her role well as a wife. Even though their son speaks highly of Shade Okoya, I’m not sure if she’s his mother. Women can always choose to improve their lives with a man. Not all women seek the spotlight and luxury.”
@himcassa stated, “People might claim she loves him for his money, and that may be true, but it’s rare to see a woman show such care and affection. Many women marry for money but treat their wealthy partners poorly. He’s in the later stages of his life and deserves love and care, regardless of wealth.”
@hilu_0 pointed out, “They’ve been married for 27 years without any cheating scandals, and she has been managing various aspects of his businesses for over 20 years. She’s already made her own success while he’s alive. Show some respect for that woman!”
