The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EEDC) has informed its customers across the South-East that it experienced a partial system collapse on Thursday at about 11:54 am.
It said this has resulted in the power outage currently experienced by customers served by the subsidiary companies—MainPower, TransPower, FirstPower, NewEra, and EastLand.
The cause of the collapse is yet to be ascertained, but we are on standby, awaiting restoration of supply.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday evening by EEDC’s Group Head, corporate communications, Emeka Ezeh and made available to journalists.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this development has caused our esteemed customers,” the statement said.
