Fact Check: Was Prince Andrew arrested in UK after new Epstein Video Release?

Claims circulating online that Prince Andrew has been arrested in the United Kingdom following the release of new material linked to Jeffrey Epstein have gained rapid traction across social media platforms. However, as of the time of this report, there is no official confirmation from UK law enforcement agencies or Buckingham Palace that the Duke of York has been arrested.

Several posts shared widely online allege that unmarked police vehicles were seen near Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, sparking speculation that authorities had taken the former royal into custody. Images accompanying these claims show vehicles and individuals described as plain-clothed officers. Yet no verified statement from Thames Valley Police, the Metropolitan Police, or other UK authorities has confirmed an arrest.

Prince Andrew, formally known as Prince Andrew, Duke of York, has faced sustained scrutiny over his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In 2022, he reached an out-of-court settlement in a civil lawsuit brought by Virginia Giuffre in the United States. The prince denied the allegations and has not faced criminal charges in the UK in connection with Epstein.

Recent renewed attention followed the reported release of additional Epstein-related documents and footage, prompting online speculation. However, credible British news outlets have not reported any arrest, nor has there been an official police briefing announcing such action.

Thames Valley Police previously stated that it had reviewed information relating to allegations involving the Duke of York, including claims tied to visits to the UK. At that time, authorities did not announce charges or detentions.

Fact-checking organizations and media analysts warn that viral claims of arrests involving high-profile figures often spread quickly without verification. Photographs of police vehicles near a property do not, on their own, confirm that an arrest has taken place.

As of now, there is no verified evidence that Prince Andrew has been detained or charged in relation to newly released Epstein material. Readers are advised to rely on statements from recognised law enforcement agencies and established news organisations for accurate updates.

The story continues to attract attention due to the long-standing public interest in the Epstein case and its global implications. Should official confirmation emerge, it is expected that UK authorities will issue a formal statement.
