The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has declared that the crescent moon, which signifies the beginning of Ramadan, has been sighted.
This announcement was made on Tuesday evening following confirmed reports from official moon sighting committees throughout the Kingdom.
As a result, the holy month of Ramadan will officially commence on Wednesday.
With the moon sighting, Muslims in Saudi Arabia will begin their fast at dawn.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and is characterized by fasting, prayers, reflection, and charitable acts.
During this month, Muslims refrain from eating and drinking from sunrise until sunset.
The period is also marked by heightened worship, night prayers, and assistance to those in need.
The moon sighting in Saudi Arabia is closely monitored by many Muslim communities worldwide, as it often affects the start of Ramadan in various countries.
