A delegation of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is in Delta State and met with Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi in Asaba, in preparation for the funeral services for his late father, scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026, in Umunede, Delta State.
During the visit, NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi presented a formal letter of condolence to Ndidi, expressing the deep sorrow and condolences of the entire Nigerian football community over the passing of Mr. Sunday Ndidi.
The delegation included NFF Executive Committee member, Nse Essien, Chairman of the Delta State Football Association, Godwin Adode, NFF Director of Media & Communications, Ademola Olajire, and members of the Delta State Football Association board.

In a separate event, another delegation from Nigeria’s U-20 Women National Team, the Falconets, arrived in Senegal on Wednesday in preparation for their match on Saturday in the second leg of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup African third round qualifier.
The team’s arrival in Dakar marks the lead-up to their match at Stade Lat Dior in Thies, located 70 kilometers from Dakar.
