Arik Air has confirmed that its flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt was redirected to Benin Airport as a safety precaution due to an unusual noise coming from the left engine.
The airline stated that flight W3 740 was diverted after the crew detected a loud sound from the left engine while descending for landing in Port Harcourt.
Fortunately, all 80 passengers disembarked safely, and no injuries were reported.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Arik Air mentioned that arrangements are being made to transport the affected passengers to their final destinations.
