Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has apologized to BBNaija Season 10 winner, Imisi Ayanwale, after facing criticism for a question she asked her during her birthday celebration.

The actress received backlash for bringing up Imisi’s troubled relationship with her mother on such a special occasion.

In response, she released an emotional video apologizing, claiming her intentions were misinterpreted.

She stated that “I genuinely want to apologize to anyone who was offended by the question I asked Imisi a few hours ago at her party. I don’t want to be in the spotlight for the wrong reasons this year.”

Nkechi acknowledged that her question might have seemed insensitive and requested forgiveness from the public, emphasizing that she did not intend to seek attention or embarrass Imisi.

She also addressed her critics, saying: “If my question upset you, I am truly sorry. Please try to forgive me.

“To everyone who is attacking or insulting me, I apologize. It was not my intention at all.”

Nkechi explained that she chose to remain silent while the situation gained attention to avoid escalating it further, mentioning that those familiar with her background would understand her viewpoint, particularly her close bond with her late mother.

She clarified that she had already apologized to Imisi privately before leaving the party and noted that the BBNaija star eventually calmed down.

While her apology has resonated with some, others remain skeptical, arguing that the timing of her question was inappropriate, regardless of her intentions.
