The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed a suspected insurgent attack on Gare Village, Pallam District, in the Madagali Local Government Area of the state.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, reportedly led to the abduction of six members of a family, while an unspecified number of livestock were also rustled.

Police authorities said that upon receiving the report, security agencies immediately launched a joint operation in the affected area.

The operation involves personnel of the police, soldiers of the 144 Battalion, and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

In a statement issued to journalists on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that additional security assets have been deployed to surrounding communities to prevent further attacks.
