Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf on Saturday approved the appointment of a new political adviser, Mustapha Bakwana.
His appointment followed the resignation of the former Political Adviser, Sunusi Kwankwaso, who is directly linked to the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The new appointment was confirmed on Saturday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, in a post shared on his verified social media handle.
Kwankwasos resignation came shortly following Governor Yusuf official declaration of his defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party on Friday.
All the while, he has been accused by the governor’s camp as one of those escalating the dispute between the governor and Sen. Kwankwaso.
Additionally, the newly appointed political adviser was a former political adviser to former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
Bakwana had recently resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) a few months ago to join the NNPP under the Kwankwasiyya Political Movement.
