Singer and songwriter Simisola Kosoko, known as Simi, has explaied that personal health issues and her pregnancy caused the delay in the release of her song “Where You Dey,” featuring Chike.
The song, which was first hinted at last year, could not be released as planned due to Simi’s health challenges at that time.
In a statement posted on her X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, Simi shared that she experienced illness, fatigue, and nausea during the recording, which hindered both the completion and promotion of the track.
“I really, really, really wanted to release this song last year… I was sick, weak, nauseous, and tired, and my body just wouldn’t cooperate,” she recounted, mentioning the challenges she faced even while filming a teaser video.

Simi commended Chike for his professionalism, noting that he quickly came to the studio after returning from a trip, unaware of her situation.
She also mentioned that she took on the task of mixing and mastering the song herself, despite her dislike for the mastering process.
