The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Enugu State Command, Elijah Willie, has tasked newly-promoted officers of the corps on upholding professionalism, integrity and discipline.
Willie gave the charge on Thursday in Enugu during the 2025/2026 decorations of 147 newly-promoted officers of the corps to their new ranks at the command headquarters in Enugu.
He urged the officers to lead by example, respect the chain of command and let their conduct reflect the honour and values of the corps.
“Your promotion is a recognition of your dedication, discipline, and commitment to duty. It is not merely a change of rank, but a call to greater responsibility, leadership and service.
“As you wear your new ranks today, I charge you to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and discipline.
“Lead by example, respect the chain of command and let your conduct reflect the honour and values of the Corps,” he said.

The commandant reminded the officers that their promotion comes with increased expectations.

Willie urged officers and men of the command to remain united, focused, and committed to their collective mandate and expressed optimism that together they can continue to strengthen the image and effectiveness of the corps.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, Pamela Chukwu, who was elevated to the rank of a deputy superintendent of corps, expressed happiness that she was among the newly-promoted officers.
Chukwu described the elevation as one of the ways in which the corps show appreciation to hardworking officers and pledged her willingness to live up to expectations.
