Sammy West, the elder brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has spoken about the circumstances surrounding his recent arrest, which he claims is connected to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko.
Sharing his ordeal via an Instagram story, West said he was arrested, placed in handcuffs and transported by road on a journey that lasted about 12 hours to Abuja. He contrasted his experience with that of Ann, a close associate of Regina Daniels, who he said was flown to Abuja in a private jet.
West’s comments followed the circulation of a viral video online showing the alleged arrest of himself and Ann at their residence, an incident that has generated widespread reactions and speculation on social media.
Expressing frustration, West questioned what he described as unequal treatment, noting that although they were reportedly involved in the same matter, they were handled very differently by authorities.

“What exactly was my offence?” he asked, adding that while he endured a long road trip in restraints, Ann received what he described as preferential treatment.
He further alleged that, as with a previous arrest, neither he nor Ann was allowed to inform family members about their situation at the time.
Providing an update on the case, West disclosed that legal proceedings have been adjourned until March 5, 2026.
Following the incident, Regina Daniels also weighed in publicly, alleging that her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, was behind the arrests. Her claim has fueled intense debate online, with social media users divided over the allegations and the unfolding details of the case.
