The United States has provided vital military equipment to Nigeria to assist in its continuing security efforts.
This information was revealed by the United States’ AFRICOM in a statement shared on its official X (previously known as Twitter) account on Tuesday, mentioning that the equipment was delivered to Nigerian officials in Abuja.
The command noted that the shipment highlights the United States’ ongoing dedication to fortifying its security collaboration with Nigeria.
“U.S. troops delivered vital military resources to our Nigerian allies in Abuja.
This provision aids Nigeria’s current operations and underscores our mutual security alliance,” AFRICOM commented, tagging the United States Mission in Nigeria, @USinNigeria.
This latest assistance is coming at a time when Nigeria is seeking to improve its capabilities in tackling security issues nationwide.
In November 2025, the presidency under Bola Tinubu had urged the United States to deploy military forces to assist Nigeria in combating terrorism in several states.
