Social media influencer and activist, VeryDarkMan, has pledged to sponsor a gifted Nigerian boy to study abroad after receiving a $50,000 (approximately ₦75 million) donation from a supporter.
The influencer made the announcement in an emotional video shared on his Instagram page, revealing that the donation was given in recognition of his humanitarian activities, particularly his recent outreach efforts in China.
According to VeryDarkMan, the supporter had earlier promised to assist him financially after observing his charitable work. The promise was later fulfilled with a cash donation of $50,000.
However, upon receiving the funds, VeryDarkMan said he was reminded of a young Nigerian boy whose exceptional creativity had previously caught his attention online but was overlooked due to his busy schedule.
The boy resurfaced on his radar after a friend recently shared the child’s content with him, prompting what he described as a moment of reflection.

He disclosed that the boy had successfully built functional items, including a blender, a power bank and a projector, entirely from scratch, demonstrating remarkable innovation and intelligence at a young age.
“I refuse to let that boy’s life or talent fade away like so many others in Nigeria,” VeryDarkMan said.
He explained that he has since contacted the boy and asked that his parents be involved in discussions, stressing that his own rise in influence has placed on him a responsibility to uplift others.
VeryDarkMan committed to fully sponsoring the boy’s education abroad, stating that the move would provide the environment and resources needed for the child to properly develop his talents.
While noting that part of the donation would be used to settle personal obligations, he emphasised that supporting the boy’s future remains a top priority.
The announcement has sparked widespread reactions online, with many social media users applauding the activist for turning personal goodwill into an opportunity for national talent development.
