Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has reiterated that empowering talented citizens will remain a defining pillar of his administration.
He urged residents to avoid adversarial attitudes toward government, stressing that unity and cooperation are essential for delivering democratic dividends.
Speaking at the State Unity Concert held at the International Worship Centre, Uyo, Gov. Eno called on the people to rise above political and ethnic sentiments in line with the values embedded in the state anthem.
He encouraged citizens to work together to sustain a united and prosperous Akwa Ibom State.
The governor, who ministered in different languages during the event, said the concert was organised to usher in the Christmas season and reinforce the spiritual and social bond shared by the people.

He reminded attendees that the state was built on love and unity, principles, the governor said their forebears upheld through the Ibibio Union.
Highlighting the need to preserve these ideals, he said: “Our forebears came together and formed the Ibibio Union… all they knew was that we should have a state that we must fight for and protect for our children, and children’s children.”
The concert took an emotional turn when a visually-impaired gospel artist, Chris Vic, delivered a powerful performance.
Deeply moved, Gov. Eno described him as a divine gift whose talent deserves full support.
To transform the artist’s life, the governor directed the commissioner for lands to allocate a plot of land in Uyo for a four-bedroom home and a fully equipped music studio valued at ₦100 million to the artist.
He also announced a ₦1 million monthly allowance for the artist throughout his tenure.
“We need to encourage our talents… Let Chris Vic be a reminder that we can still praise God regardless of our circumstances,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to supporting persons living with disabilities.
The event underscored the administration’s dedication to unity, compassion, and talent development across Akwa Ibom State.
