Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, is making headlines on X after a video emerged, reigniting an old rumor regarding his supposed arrest in the United Kingdom (UK).
The video, shared on December 1, 2025, has led to renewed discussions online, prompting many Nigerians to revisit a claim that 2Baba had previously refuted.
2Baba, who visited the UK for a concert tour in October, was absent from a scheduled performance in London on October 2, 2025.
This absence fueled speculation that he had been detained following a confrontation with his new wife, Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker in the Edo State House of Assembly, at the airport.
He later took to Instagram to deny these allegations, clarifying that he missed the show due to a medical emergency.
At that time, both he and his fans dismissed the rumors, but they continued to circulate on gossip websites and social media.
The topic resurfaced when blogger Tosin Silverdam shared what he claimed was new evidence—a video on Instagram and X on December 1—purporting to show 2Baba being arrested at Gatwick Airport after a heated exchange with Natasha.
In his post, he wrote, “Video of Tuface Idibia Being Arrested by the Police in the UK After an Alleged Altercation with His Wife Natasha… and Video of Heated Argument at the Airport. The Video Is Finally Out.”
Screenshots from the video shared by commentators appear to depict officers conversing with 2Baba outside a store before escorting him away.
Silverdam also shared another video of the argument with Natasha, suggesting she was “jealous of 2Baba getting all the attention.”

He has maintained that the videos corroborate his earlier assertion that police took 2Baba into custody. In October, he claimed that police were called during the dispute and that “the African Queen crooner was reportedly taken away.”
Once Silverdam released the video, it quickly gained traction, making 2Baba the top trend among X users in Nigeria.
This situation has elicited mixed reactions from internet users. While some believe the video confirms the arrest rumor, others argue that it lacks context and may simply depict the singer being escorted out of a store.
In response to the situation on X, a user @geeztvofficial commented, “Maybe this is AI because that can’t be our legend 2Baba Arrested in London. The police could have asked better.
“Maybe it’s their new love language… this is a husband and wife matter… Or was pregnancy cravings the cause? I mean their lovey-dovey video just went viral, and now this.”
