The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, confirmed on Thursday that 11,566 officers previously assigned to Very Important Personalities (VIPs) will be withdrawn, following a directive from the President.
Egbetokun shared this information during a meeting with senior police officials in Abuja, emphasizing that the presidential order allows him to carry out the directive without interference.
He stated that no VIP will contest the removal of their security personnel, as the instruction came directly from the President.
