The Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force North West, Major General Warrah Idris, says armed bandits are under growing pressure as security forces intensify operations to rescue the schoolgirls taken from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State. He gave this assurance during an on-the-spot visit to the area, where he reviewed the scene and received a detailed briefing from the General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Major General CR Nnebiefe.

General Idris explained that coordinated efforts involving multiple security agencies are already in motion to secure the safe return of the students. He praised the troops for their focus and urged them to keep up the pursuit until every abducted child is back home with her family. He expressed confidence in their resolve and said all required support and resources would be made available to drive the mission to success.
Captain David Adewusi, the Media Information Officer of Operation Fansan Yamma, added that the ongoing push has left the criminals with fewer places to hide. General Idris stressed that the attackers will not enjoy any relief as the operation continues.
