The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has expelled a corps member, Oyaje Daniel, from his Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) at Judeen International School, Annex Section, Mando, Sabon Gida, Kaduna state following a viral online comment he made about teenage female students that caused significant outrage.
Daniel, who was serving in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, posted a remark deemed inappropriate and offensive, leading to swift reactions on social media. In response to the backlash, the NYSC State Disciplinary Committee called him in for questioning, where he appeared alongside his CDS President.
He was later accompanied to the NYSC Headquarters in Kaduna by the Alumni President of his college, Comr. Philip Ayuba Bobai, and activist John Adesogan for further discussions with officials.

After an initial investigation, the NYSC decided to withdraw Daniel from his PPA and reassign him to the NYSC Headquarters in Kaduna, where he will finish the rest of his service year under close supervision.
An investigative panel has also been tasked with visiting his former PPA to assess whether any misconduct occurred beyond the online comment. The NYSC indicated that any additional wrongdoing discovered would be reported to the appropriate authorities. Officials also mentioned that other corps members who made similarly inappropriate comments in the viral thread are being monitored and may face disciplinary measures as well.
Emphasizing its zero-tolerance policy towards behavior that jeopardizes community safety or undermines its values, the NYSC stated that Daniel’s situation should serve as a warning about the repercussions of irresponsible social media use.
