The Edo State Commissioner for Public Security and Safety, Festus Ebea, has commended the Edo State Special Security Squad, ‘Operation Flush Out Kidnapping and Cultism’, for their bravery and dedication in arresting 31 suspected kidnappers and cultists in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area.
The commissioner warned kidnappers and cultists in the state to abandon their nefarious activities, stating that the state government, in collaboration with security agencies, is committed to flushing them out.
“Look for alternative businesses, as we are now prepared more than ever to ensure the state is safe and secure,” he said.
The arrests were linked to a violent clash between rival cult groups on November 13, 2025, which left one individual hospitalized with severe injuries.
