Steve McClaren has stepped down as the manager of Jamaica after 18 months in the role, following their failure to qualify for the World Cup after a 0-0 draw with Curaçao, the smallest nation to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Jamaica missed out on a spot in next summer’s tournament to Curaçao, managing only a draw at the National Stadium in Kingston.
The Reggae Boyz needed a victory to secure their qualification and finish at the top of their group.
McClaren initially had a promising start, winning his first two matches without conceding any goals.

However, a loss to Curaçao and a draw against Trinidad and Tobago, along with a win over Bermuda, hindered their progress.
Jamaica still has a chance to qualify for the World Cup, but the odds are stacked against them in a six-team mini-tournament in Mexico, where they must win two matches.
This will culminate in a final against either DR Congo or Iraq.
