Social media erupted after a video surfaced online showing influencers Martins Vincent Otse (VeryDarkMan) and Freedom Atsepoyi (Mr. Jollof) involved in a physical altercation on a United Nigeria Airlines flight from Asaba to Lagos on November 17, 2025.
The scuffle led to both individuals being removed by airline authorities, causing a delay in the flight’s departure.
Reports suggest the confrontation stemmed from their ongoing online feud, with VeryDarkMan accusing Mr. Jollof of throwing the first punches and even biting him during the fight.
Footage of the incident quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), sparking public outrage and calls for aviation penalties against the two influencers.
Netizens shared mixed reactions. User @Smith050 commented that “I blame the people who intervened. They were wrong to interfere.
“If VDM wanted to confront Jollof, why should anyone care? I dislike it when people meddle in situations they should just observe. Everyone has their own preferences, and VDM chose to engage with Jollof.”
@Hollumuyiwa1 added: “One would think VDM would keep to himself while seated. He has many enemies, while the other guy is relatively unknown.
“Fighting on a plane with other passengers is completely disruptive and unacceptable.
“They jeopardized everyone’s safety. This is exactly what his critics will use to try to bring him down. He really needs to manage his emotions better.”

@Telecom expressed disbelief, stating that “VeryDarkMan and Mr. Jollof throwing punches on a plane? This country never ceases to amaze me.
“Even at 30,000 feet, people still choose violence over peace. Imagine the pilot hearing commotion in the back, thinking it’s turbulence, only to find out it’s human turbulence. Nigeria always delivers a new episode.”
@simplysimpa remarked: “This is what’s trending on a Monday in a country like Nigeria that lacks seriousness.
“While businesses should be promoting their products and services on a Monday morning, this news is stealing all the attention. I’m exhausted by this country!
“The level of lawlessness here has become so normalized that nearly everyone feels compelled to participate, as it has become the norm. God help us!”
@Fadachristmas_ pointed out that “we’ve seen Adams Oshiomhole, KWAM 1, and other instances of unruly behavior at the airport recently without any consequences for those involved.
“The absence of strict laws leads to chaos and hinders development, putting lives at risk. If the USA decides to intervene in our aviation practices, people will start complaining. Without law and order, we all risk becoming savages.”
