The Governing Council of the University of Calabar has confirmed the appointment of Professor Offiong Effanga Offiong, a distinguished scholar and former Cross River State Commissioner for Education, as the 12th Vice Chancellor of the institution.
Professor Offiong, a renowned academic in the field of Pure and Applied Chemistry, emerged as the preferred candidate after a rigorous selection process that featured 10 shortlisted aspirants. His appointment was ratified by the 14th Governing Council of the university, chaired by retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udom Ekpoudom.
