Apex lgbo socio-cultural organisation, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has condemned the campaign of calumny orchestrated by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde against the Minister of Works, David Umahi.
Ohanaeze said that evidence at it disposal strongly suggests that Gov. Makinde is allegedly funding a renewed media onslaught aimed not only at discrediting President Bola Tinubu, but also at undermining the significant infrastructural initiative—the Lagos-Calabar Highway—over which Umahi presides.
The pan -lgbo group stated that Gov. Makinde’s actions appears to involve the sponsorship of journalists and television personalities who engage in unprofessional conduct and inflammatory rhetoric against Umahi, saying that such antics are intolerable and must cease forthwith.

The body noted that as custodians of the Igbo heritage and cultural values, it signals its readiness to take decisive action against any individual or group that insults Umahi, whether directly or indirectly.
According to the Ohanaeze, Ndigbo harbours deep suspicions regarding the newly revived conspiracies and clandestine plots hatched by opposition leaders, utilizing the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project as a means to tarnish the legacy of President Tinubu and diminish his signature initiatives.
