The Federal High Court in Abuja has dashed hopes of Kogi Central constituents as it refused to overturn the six-month suspension slammed on Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
In a judgment delivered on Friday, Justice James Omotosho dismissed the suit filed by Ovavu Illiyasu and nine others against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the Nigerian Senate. The group had argued that the suspension, handed down over allegations of misconduct, was unconstitutional and left the people of Kogi Central without proper representation in the National Assembly.
