A former senatorial aspirant and prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State, Mohammed Bello, has formally resigned his membership from the party, citing personal convictions and dissatisfaction with the party’s direction.
In a letter addressed to the APC Ward Chairman in Gwange, Damaturu metropolis, Bello announced that his resignation takes immediate effect.
Describing his decision as a move to “come out from bondage,” Bello stated that the choice was the result of “considerable reflection” on his personal values and the trajectory of the APC.
“This decision has not come lightly; it follows considerable reflection on my personal values and the direction of the party.

Bello, who contested for the Yobe Zone A senatorial ticket under the APC, did not disclose his next political move at the time of filing this report.
His resignation was observed to have added to the growing list of intra-party defections and discontent within the APC ranks in the state.
