West Ham has dismissed head coach Graham Potter after eight months, as the team is currently struggling in 19th place in the Premier League.
The Hammers have managed to secure only three points from their first five league matches.
The East London club stated that they “believe a change is necessary to help improve the team’s standing in the Premier League as soon as possible.”
They also noted that the results and performances during the latter half of last season and the beginning of the 2025-26 season have not met expectations.
Potter, 50, was preparing for Monday’s match against Everton and had completed his media obligations on Friday.
Following last Saturday’s home loss to Crystal Palace, BBC Sport reported that the club was exploring other managerial options.

Nuno Espirito Santo, who was recently let go by Nottingham Forest, is believed to be a leading candidate for the position.
Since his appointment in January, Potter has overseen 25 matches, winning only six, and the team finished last season in 14th place in the league.
“The board would like to express their gratitude to Graham and his coaching staff for their dedication during their time with the Hammers and wish them success in the future,” the club stated.
They also mentioned that the process of finding a replacement is underway and that no further comments will be made at this time.
