A total of 65 supporters injured, 25 out of them were taken to the hospital, including one who has suffered life-threatening harm, due to a pitch invasion at Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion on Saturday.
As the full-time whistle blew, a massive crowd surged onto the field celebrating Hamburg’s 6-1 triumph against Ulm, but for many, the joyous moment turned grim due to injuries incurred during the breach.
According to information released by the Hamburg Fire Department, a cumulative total of 44 individuals received medical care, out of which 19 experienced significant injuries, five had minor issues, and one was reported with life-threatening conditions.
“After the match concluded, soccer enthusiasts rushed the field, leading to multiple injuries among fans,” the report indicated.

“The Hamburg Fire Department activated a substantial emergency medical response to assist local emergency services present at the scene.”
The statement further mentioned that approximately 65 emergency responders were dispatched from both the Hamburg rescue service and fire department in relation to the incident.
Hamburg’s victory has secured their promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time following their drop in the 2017-18 season.
If they can either match or exceed Cologne’s performance in the final match next Sunday, they will also be crowned champions.
