The national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured all Nigerians that are calling on him to run for the office of the president of the country in 2023 that he will not shy away from such calls.
Tinubu, who made the declaration on Tuesday in Abuja after a closed-door meeting with members of the Northern Alliance Committee, however, noted that after consultations with political stakeholders and friends across the country, a day will be set aside to make his intention known to Nigerians but at the moment he would not want to distract President Munammadu Buhari from tackling the handful of challenges currently bedeviling the country.

“I am not going to turn them (Nigerians) down, but I will still effective and widely consult, particularly brainstorm with my friends and find a date to come out openly and tell Nigerians.
“The president is still in office. I don’t want to distract him from all the challenges that he might face today. So, we will consult and make our programmes known to the people later and the intention is clear. So, you keep guessing,” Tinubu said.
The leader of the Northern Alliance Committee, Ambassador Lawal Ahmed Munir while endorsing Tinubu for President in 2023, said the group has resolved to work for the actualization of the presidential ambition of the former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Munir noted that his alliance had fruitful discussions with Tinubu and disclosed that the committee resolved to support him come 2023 due to his sterling political qualities.
“The meeting ended very well. We are working for him because we know he will win the election when the time comes,” Munir stated.
