Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide has advised the Presidential candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, not to waste time and resources in the south-east and Igbo-speaking areas of South/south and Middle belt for every Igbo behind him is only after his pockets.

Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mazi Okechukwu Isigozoro, stated this on Tuesday in a statement he made available to The Trumpet in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital.

According to the statement, “When they are satisfied with the resources yanked out from Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, many of them will disappear from Nigeria with an alibi for emergency medical tourism and those who couldn’t travel will conceal in their Abuja or Lagos residential homes.

“Most of Atiku’s men from the southeast are terrified of the Igbo youngsters. They were used as hooligans in 2019 and abandoned to the hardship and penury in the face of this economic slumps and pandemic without palliative care are wiser and have been transformed into Biafra agitators.

“For these abandoned Igbo youths, it’s is payback time for corrupt politicians of Igbo extraction supporting the enemies of Ndigbo.” We wish to remind Atiku Abubakar, that according to Igbo tradition and culture, it’s a taboo in Igboland for a visitor to boost having Igbo children without telling us about the relationship between him and the mother of his Igbo children or her way about. “it’s a sacrilege and he should not repeat his Enugu’s declaration of having Igbo children, because he should avert issues that will exacerbate his relationship with Igbos”.

The Igbo political elites, including the PDP Governors, know that Atiku will lose in the southeast without getting the required constitutional 25% votes for losers, after his infamous Kaduna declaration of dishonour that he belongs to the North only.

The body stated that Nigerians from the North, West, South, and East are encountering severe hunger, unemployment, and insecurity challenges, any Presidential candidate dwelling on ethnicity and religious cards, without showing evidence of rescuing the country from the abyss of economic crisis and social dilemma, Nigerians found themselves, will be disgraced at the polls.

Ohanaeze further stated that Atiku Abubakar has declined to learn from his 2019’s severe setback, this time around he should genuinely challenge his Igbo advisers and caucus team flocking around him for a road walk in their villages and countryside without security and see the flimsy excuses that will follow it.
