The 2 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital is set to host the West African Social Party (WASA) on December 7, 2024, to promote social interaction among soldiers, their families and the local community.
Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations for the brigade, Lt. Adebowale Adejimi, disclosed this information in a statement issued in Uyo on Tuesday.

He emphasized that the event aligns with the army’s traditions, customs and ethical standards, stating that WASA has become an annual occasion since the establishment of the Nigerian Army.
“We use it to create an atmosphere for interaction among personnel, their families and the civil population. It provides a medium to promote civil-military cooperation.
“It also displays the cultural values of ethnic groups in the country,” Lt. Adejimi said, adding that the occasion will be utilised to honour soldiers who distinguished themselves during the year.
