The Delta State Police Command has revealed a disturbing incident involving a 17-year-old girl who allegedly collaborated with friends to stage her own kidnapping and extort N500,000 from her mother.
The girl reportedly used the money to purchase clothing, leaving her hardworking mother, who depends on farming for her livelihood, heartbroken.
“She worked with her friends to fake her abduction and demanded a ransom of N500,000 from her unsuspecting mother, who toils in the village to provide for the family,” the police stated in a report,” the police confirmed.

Authorities stressed the need for proper upbringing and parental supervision to avoid similar occurrences in the community.
“Educate your children so they do not become a burden to you or society,” the police command cautioned.
