Zulum visits Marte, plans two night stay amid renewed insurgent attacks in Borno

Borno State, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has visited Marte Local Government Area, where he plans to spend two nights for on ground assessment and high-level security engagements.

The visit comes in the wake of recent attacks by insurgents in several communities, including Marte, Damboa, Gajiram, and Chibok. Prior to arriving in Marte, Governor Zulum stopped in Dikwa town, where he met with displaced residents of Marte who fled the violence.

He sympathized with the victims and assured them of his administration’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace and ensuring their safe return.

During his visit to Marte, the Governor toured areas affected by the recent attacks, inspecting sites of destruction and engaging with local leaders.

He emphasized the need for continued vigilance and urged residents to remain prayerful and hopeful despite the ongoing challenges.

Governor Zulum’s itinerary includes strategic meetings with military officials aimed at enhancing security operations and boosting the morale of troops stationed in the region.
