Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has taken significant steps in supporting the fight against Boko Haram insurgents by disbursing N255,650,000 in cash and distributing 5,513 bags of 50kg rice to members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters.
The distribution ceremony, overseen by the governor, took place at the Multipurpose Hall of the Government House in Maiduguri on Thursday.
The beneficiaries, totaling 5,523 individuals from Maiduguri and Jere areas, include both government-paid personnel and volunteers actively involved in combating the insurgency.

Each of the 4,513 government-paid members received a bag of 50kg rice and N50,000 in cash, while the 1,000 volunteers were each provided with a bag of 50kg rice and N30,000 in cash.
Expressing gratitude for their dedication and contributions to restoring peace in the state, Governor Zulum commended the CJTF members and hunters for their efforts in complementing the work of the military and other security forces.
He reassured them of his commitment to prioritizing their welfare.
