In a move aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and professionalism, the Zone 3 Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force has commenced specialized weapon handling training for its constables.

The directive, issued by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 3, Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, tasked the Deputy Commissioner of Police overseeing the Department of Operations with organizing and supervising the program, which began immediately.

According to the Zonal Command, the training aligns with recent directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, emphasizing standardized and comprehensive professional development for officers to ensure safety and improve service delivery.

Participants in the program will conclude the sessions with practical exercises at a shooting range, designed to reinforce firearm handling skills and operational readiness.

The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Aminu Umar Bashir, confirmed the launch of the training in a statement issued on behalf of the AIG.

Police authorities say the initiative highlights the Force’s commitment to building a more competent and disciplined workforce, capable of effectively responding to security challenges and ensuring public safety across the zone.
