Zamfara State has commenced the distribution of the federal government’s N75,000 cash transfer scheme to recipients of the World Bank-funded cash transfer scheme.
The official kick-off occurred at the Tsafe Local Government secretariat, as documented in a statement released on Tuesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris.
The statement clarified that the objective is to provide each beneficiary with N75,000 financial assistance, emphasizing the governor’s dedication to empowering the most vulnerable individuals in Zamfara State.
The governor expressed his delight in launching this program that aims to offer N75,000 to each of the 448,141 beneficiaries.
Out of the expected beneficiaries, 279,534 have qualified to receive the monetary support, while the rest will receive it once they meet the requirements.

Additionally, the governor advised recipients to utilize the assistance wisely by investing in their future endeavors to enhance self-sustainability and contribute to the economy’s growth, urging them to consider entrepreneurship to achieve self-reliance.
Furthermore, the governor extended his gratitude to the federal government, partners, and stakeholders, particularly the National Cash Transfer Office, for their unwavering commitment and impactful contributions to the project.
He emphasised his administration’s continued collaboration with individuals and organizations for the improvement and progress of Zamfara State.
He sealed his remarks by officially flagging off the distribution and activation of the debit cards to facilitate conditional cash transfer payments for the deserving beneficiaries.
